Vampires.
Yes, we all know about crosses and coffins, but be serious.
Vampire Princess Miyu and Vampire Hunter D are good
examples, but a truer vampire would never act like these
two.
Enter Alucard (Dracula
spelled backwards), the main force of the Hellsing
organization. His task is to hunt and kill stray vampires...with
a BIG GUN!
Sounds fun? It gets better. Alucard also forms a common
interest with a police girl named Victoria Seras who
is sort of new to being a vampire. Their relationship
develops pretty smoothly and they both do a good job
at becoming blood thirsty vampires hunting down others.
Hellsing is pure, full
blown violence. Limbs ripping, blood bursting, knives
through different parts of the body and a few other
acts of killing that I won't give away. And seeing
it in crisp animation with CG makes for an awe-inpiring
experience. However, all those who wince at the thought
of a blade through your neck should avoid this series,
less they find themselves having nightmares.
Overall, Hellsing provides
an excellent amount action and animation to keep hardcore
anime fans watching. Especially vampire fans since
some of this series has direct links to vampire history.

just someone | 10-11-2003 22:44 [E-Mail,Site] | His name is most likely Alucard. One, that's how it's pronounced in the dub. Two, Dracula spelled backwords is probably intentional. Three, saying it sounds like an "r", "r" and "l" are interchangeable in japanese. The r's sound like l's and the l's sound like r's. | Ki | 09-13-2003 18:34 [E-Mail,Site] | Well I've seen plenty on this series and I am proud to say that this takes up one of my favorite's slot in my favorite series. I would not rate it 10 out of 10 because on the later episodes it starts to get confusing but otherwise its too impressive. The way Arucard acts(He kinda reminds me of Vash),The way its animated and the fight scenes are all too kool. I rate it 8 out of 10 since I am forever a Vampire Hunter D fan but if D was never around Hellsing would take it's place. | UnKnown | 09-05-2003 13:01 [E-Mail,Site] | I havent seen very many episodes of this one even though there arent many to see,but it is a fantastic anime. Not as good as Berserk or Ayashi no Ceres but its pretty good. Its very educational too.I learned a lot more about vampires than I thought i knew.Out of all the animes it could be better but it is one of the better ones out there. | Malice | 07-20-2003 04:27 [E-Mail,Site] | In the history of all animes that I have seen, it is hard to come by 10 out of 10 animes. It is even harder to come by one that is as beautiful as Hellsing. Plus Arucard (something like that, it\'s definately not Alucard, that\'s just a coincidence. If you listen carefully it\'s an R.) By the way there is an ongoing discussion in many other anime forums as to just what his name is. Feel free to e-mail me with your thoughts. Hellsing shines as a story and would only be a low 9 if it weren\'t for it\'s AMAZING soundtrack, which I just bought since it\'s so killer. Hellsing is one of four animes I recommend everyone should watch (Neon Genesis Evangelion (cream of the crop), Ninja Scroll/Resurrection, Vampire Hunter D/Bloodlust, and Hellsing). I would have recommended Berserk if it weren\'t for the last few episodes. They ruined it. Everyone that was as let down by the end to my previously absolute favorite anime as I was, which made me destroy it\'s name on all forums, please e-mail me with ideas, whatever about the ending. I don\'t get it. However, I ramble. Hellsing is one of the greatest series ever. Everyone watch it. Must see. Actually an 11 out of 10 for the soundtrack. ;)DivX4vr |
